Quiet Weekend

Just a photo to remind us all that spring will eventually return, and with it the vibrant colors that nature does provide.

This weekend was uneventful and quiet - just the kind that I like. I got to knit a bit and that was fun... until I dropped a stitch and couldn't figure out how to find it again. So, I went to bed a bit miffed with myself and started anew today.. and fudged the dropped stitch to the best of my ability. I'm okay with the extra little flaw (a small hole) in my knitted blanket. When the Amish make their quilts, they intentionally incorporate a mistake in every quilt because only God is perfect. Yup, that's the way I operate with my knitting/quilting. There is usually a mistake in everything I do. I can guarantee, though, that all my mistakes are unintentional...

Tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM, I will be lightly anesthetized to have a small tumor removed from my tongue. Doc says it appears benign but needs to come off and then he'll send it off for biopsy to confirm that it is. It will all be done with a laser so I won't have to get any stitches. Hopefully doctors don't perform their surgeries on the same principles that the Amish make their quilts.......

Dot!! Look at your new banner. You did good!

Love the photo of the hydrangea and I love the intentional mistake in your knitting. That's funny! :)

I'll be thinking of you and praying for you tomorrow. Hope all goes well.

The hydrangea is a beautiful color! It was sixty degrees and sunny here today! Seems I heard the same thing about an intentional mistake when cross stitching samplers. Keeping you in my thoughts! Take care!

Good luck on the laser surg. tomorrow, it is amazing how much they can do with those things now and how quickly it will heal.

I really like the thought of a mistake being part of every blanket.
Nobody is perfect but we are all good enough!

Thanks ladies! I'm awake and back to transcribing. Wish that restful session I had this AM was a bit longer!

It's snowing here now so the splash of spring color I threw in yesterday really was fun!

Thanks to all of you for all of the prayers for today. I wasn't nervous as I was looking forward to a few minutes of uninterrupted snoozing - it was just too darn short!

Results come in next week!

Angie, I actually amazed myself with this banner. I searched online for a hint or two and then just proceeded to mess around with pictures and that was the result I ended up with. Not too shabby!

Glad you did well, Dot! YAY for answered prayer!

And I really can't imagine INTENTIONALLY putting a mistake in a quilt. Obviously the Amish are MUCH better quilters than I am! LOL! The important quilt tip I've learned is to NEVER show anyone where your mistake is.....

Blessings,

I love blue hydrangeas! A lovely reminder. And the amish/blanket/dropped stitch musings were wonderful. A great way to look at the small flaw in your blanket.
