What Kind Of Mother Would Allow This

While preparing a totally different blog entry for today's post, I came upon some old photos taken with an old point-and-shoot digital camera. When I saw these photos, I was taken back to about 3-4 years ago when they were taken, at a time when my daughter was still somewhat taller than her baby brother. Things in height land have taken a dramatic turn and he is now about 7 inches taller than her. Anyway, I do recall this skirmish taking place and rather than yell, scream, and threaten to take away Playstation for a decade, I did what any other mother would do and grabbed the camera so that I could remember this

and this

and even this

A lot of us try to capture the cute things our kids do

But how many of us are willing to stand by and watch one child overpower another just for the sake of a photograph?

I know at least one mom who would!

(Raising hand and waving it wildly in CA !) I would ! we have some pretty funny photos of "the girl" and either her friends or me or her dad locked in short-term mortal combat!
She and I cannot seem to play nice at yard sports. We actually stopped playing street hockey when she was about 14 because we were both bearing the bruises of high sticking and hip shots!
Bob took pictures of that sort of hooliganism when he wasn't falling down laughing!

What a great series : ). I mean, seriously, aren't brother and sister fights a rite of passage when you are growing up? It's amazing how much they have grown since then.

I have been thinking of you whenever I drive by a church these past few days and hoping the new minister will turn out to be better than you are expecting! : ). Happy Memorial Day weekend!
