I Heart Faces - Faces and Flowers

I decided to try my hand at adding some texture to one of the prom photos I took back on senior prom night. This young beautiful girl is a friend of my daughter.  I have lots of learning to do with adding texture. I used a free texture called "Bokeh Flash" created by Prareeerica.

Be sure to stop by I Heart Faces and catch a glimpse of hundreds of other faces and flower entries.

She is very pretty! I don't understand textures for the life of me. Good for you for getting out there and trying something new Dot!

She is such a pretty girl! :) I still don't know how to work with textures... I have to be 'brave' enough to try them one of these days. :)

Ahhhh... cute! Thanks for the comment on my pic too!
When you put the texture on, did you play with the blending mode at all. You may wanna try "softlight" "overlay" or "hardlight"

Cherie's right! The blending mode and opacity has a lot to do with making it turn out right. When I add texture, I always mask off the skin. She is such a pretty girl, but the texture obscures her face too much. Give it a try! Oh, and thanks for visiting my blog, www.wendymayophotographer.com! You asked how I got my son to pose like that. He's been my model for most of his life and he's used to it. LOL!

I love the bubble effect! How did you do that?
Hope you get a chance to hop on to my blog too!
Have a great day

If only I could have figured out how to spare her face of the bubbles, I would have. I am going to have to some more fooling around with textures and layers..

I have that same texture! I think it looks lovely on the picture; you did good! I use MCP's texturizer, which makes it really easy to blend and play with opacity, but I like the look that you achieved. Well done!

This is beautiful, Dot. I bet this girl was loving having some fancy prom shots. So many kids get lined up, a quick point and shoot shot and that's it. You captured the special night for this gal perfectly! I haven't visited your blog in so long. I'm going to go looking to see if you have more prom photos. (College is finally done until mid-June. Such a wonderful feeling! :)
